Surveys of Outdoor Recreation

Online Surveys

Two online surveys were developed and deployed as part of this study. First was a survey of the general public - of outdoor recreation users. This survey was open for three months during the fall of 2019 and was closed December 31, 2019. The survey results are being analyzed and tabulated, and it received over 1,600 responses.

The second online survey is for the providers of outdoor recreation services and amenities. These include public park authorities, municipalities, parishes, concessionaires in state and municipal parks, the state and federal government, and private providers. This survey is open through the end of January 2020.

Louisiana’s Division of Outdoor Recreation is conducting these surveys in fulfillment of the federally required Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) to identify the needs and priorities of outdoor recreation throughout the state. This survey process ensures continued federal funding to assist Louisiana in meeting the outdoor recreational demands of its citizens.
